The Opportunity

The purpose of the ANFPP Nurse Educator role is to facilitate the delivery and development of a high quality ANFPP core education curriculum that maximizes ANFPP staff learning experiences and achieves ANFPP program outcomes.  

Key Duties

  • Represent the ANFPP principles and values in all interactions with both internal and external customers and colleagues;
  • Become an expert in the practice and theory of the ANFPP (NFP) model including underpinning theories, principles, tools and education curriculum;
  • Prepare, facilitate and deliver the ANFPP education curriculum to ANFPP site staff (and NPC staff) in face to face and webinar formats using education strategies that integrate culturally safe, best practice in teaching; support fidelity to the key Program elements and drive ANFPP learning outcomes;
  • Contribute to the ongoing revision of the ANFPP education curriculum and the development of high quality education components to ensure they are contemporary and contextualized within the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander setting;
  • Support the delivery of the FPW/ACW education curriculum;
  • Work with other team members to develop lesson plans and other educational support materials;
  • Be responsible for identifying risks in the delivery of the education and training and site support and developing strategies to manage the risks identified.

Key Requirements

The preferred applicant will have:

  • Current registration as a Nurse, preferably with Midwifery endorsement
  • Post graduate education qualification or Certificate IV Workplace Training and Education
  • Demonstrated experience of competency-based training in an adult learning environment
  • Demonstrated experience working in primary health care and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services
